People say you should practice what you preach. Well, I've been there, right where you are. I've done this work myself and I know it works. And over the course of my professional life, I've watched the individuals and couples I've worked with transform their lives for the better. My approach to helping people is not to sit back and judge you, or tell you what you did wrong or who is to blame. Instead I will work with you to form a unique partnership with real collaboration and effective guidance so you can be empowered and together we can resolve what is holding you back from living the life you deserve to live.

You may feel you're at the end of your rope. Maybe you've been skeptical of therapy in the past or have had a bad experience. Even just the thought of therapy can be daunting. We have all been there. All you need to do is take this first step. Let's be honest. The past can hurt, sometimes a lot. With each client I strive to create a safe place where you will not feel so scared, angry or alone. I work to create this environment so my clients can get to the heart of their emotional pain or trauma and start building better relationships, not just with others but with themselves. It's true that we can be our worst enemy, or at least our worst critic, when we really should be our own best friend. But it's easy to get caught up in the pain and listen to the negative voices in your own head. Often when clients come to me, they have carried a burden for so long they have almost given up, resigned to the fact this is the hand they've been dealt and no one else could possibly understand. I promise that is not the case. Yes, therapy is not easy. It requires showing up and doing hard work. But I vow to work just as hard as each and every one of my clients.

In me you will find not only a qualified and experienced therapist, but a person whose core beliefs focus on building trust, and dedication to truly helping those I work with. I can help you turn inward to mend past hurts and peel back the layers of emotional scar tissue and move forward in the world in more rewarding and healthy ways with your new best friend--you!

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

My area of expertise focuses heavily on the practices and processes involving emotional release to help those suffering the long term, and sometimes shorter term, effects of deep emotional trauma. I take a very holistic approach to therapy in which I help clients peel back the layers of emotional pain, which can result from a myriad of experiences and for a number of reasons. At the most basic level, we will work together with exercises aimed at guiding you to turn inward to release pain, anger and other negative emotions and move you forward armed with practical tools and methods for dealing with life crisis and transitions. I work with individual clients, couples and families. I often find when couples or families come to me in distress that we can address both individual needs in treatment and at the same time establish a shared vocabulary and practical methods for better communication and growth within that family unit. I have worked with a wide variety of clients including those suffering from depression, mood disorders, anxiety and bipolar disorders and the consequences of dealing with various forms of childhood and other trauma. What many clients may not realize is that there is a long term effect of pain they may have suffered many years ago and that can hold them back from attaining a sense of ease and well-being in present relationships, work and other interactions. I am committed to helping all of my clients improve their sense of balance and quality of life.

What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process

Part of my commitment to helping my clients is ensuring from the start we are progressing on a path and at pace that is right for their individual situations, needs and goals in their pursuit of happiness and well-being. Often times clients begin this process having reached a difficult and painful point in their lives. Many people who turn to therapy already have reached a stage where they feel overwhelmed, scared, angry or disconnected. Working with me we can turn those negative and fearful emotions around and build a safe and trusting course forward. It’s of utmost importance to me that I help lessen my clients’ fears by creating an environment where each and every person I work with feels safe and supported. Therapy is hard work. I want those I work with to know with me they have a knowledgeable and compassionate partner who will guide them on their journey toward living a pain free and fuller life. I've done this work myself and with dozens of clients who have gone on to live happier and fuller lives armed with practical strategies they can apply to real life situations and relationships. My clients find along the way they gain new sources of confidence and are empowered, no longer scared or overwhelmed, as they see their disappointments and fears of the past fade. I am highly skilled in facilitating an emotional release process that has allowed my clients to let go of the past and gain new understandings and find peace they previously thought was only reserved for ot

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

Choosing the right therapist is a very important decision. Just coming to the door is a large step for any client and one that I do not take lightly. I consider it a privilege to work with all my clients. The client-therapist relationship is a true partnership from the very start and it’s crucial to establish trust and a solid comfort level right from the beginning. My years of experience and success in helping clients and families move from a point of desperation to one of peace, happiness and optimism has further strengthened my commitment to this work and to give 100 percent to each person I work with. I have seen this work transform lives for the better. There is nothing more fulfilling than seeing those successes and knowing I in some way helped facilitate the work leading to such an amazing transformation. Each client can be guaranteed I will give all I have to help them on a similar successful path.

For more than ten years I’ve helped people get “unstuck” through counseling and emotional healing techniques. At the onset my promise to my clients is that they will have the full benefit of my experience and that I will work just as hard as each client who comes to my door to assist them on their personal journeys. This work goes far beyond scheduled therapy “sessions.” It is my goal to provide clients with a “tool box” of practical strategies, thought processes and practices so that when they are out in the “real world” they have what they need
