More Info About My Practice

Most of us learned ways to manage challenges that worked at one time. Often, life then presents new challenges or new settings in which our old tools don't work as well as we want.
Transformation Behavioral Health is a group practice that specializes in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and in management of chronic pain and chronic health conditions. Our programs and services focus on teaching new ways to handle challenges. DBT involves being Mindful in the moment, monitoring thoughts that contribute to negative moods, and learning different ways to respond to people and situations that lead to feeling more in control and balanced. DBT teaches us to tolerate and manage our emotions, and express them in ways that our more likely to improve relationships.

We are in-network with BCBS PPO insurance, and some others. There are many new insurance companies. Please call your insurance to find out if we are in-network with your type of insurance and plan. Due to recent changes in Medicare rules, as a small organization, we are no longer able to accept clients with Medicare or Medicaid.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

Psychotherapy can help you to manage stress, emotional and physical pain, intense emotions, relationships, and challenging people in your life. Therapy can help improve communication skills so that you are more likely to obtain goals in relationships and in career or work settings. Therapy helps people to come to peace with difficult and/or heartbreaking life situations that cannot be changed. It can help you to put your life in balance and feel content. What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process

Most people have heard about psychotherapy and likely also have heard jokes and seen media clips of negative portrayals of therapy that are most likely inaccurate. Therapy that works is a collaborative relationship in which you will set goals for yourself and work to achieve these. Much of therapy is about learning options that you didn't have a chance to learn before. It can be a lot of work. You are in control of how much work you want to do, and how quickly. The clinicians at Transformation make a commitment to be there to guide and support you on your journey.
