My Approach to Helping
As the founder of Gentle Growth Therapeutic Services, I provide psychotherapy to adults, couples and groups who are seeking to heal from the results of painful childhoods and current losses. It is important to me that you feel understood by me, and feel that I am connected to you and your struggles. You are welcome to discuss your ideas or questions about our work together.
People with whom I work are often concerned about stress, family problems, addiction, childhood abuse, rape, divorce or domestic violence. It is most exciting to me when I witness a person gain new understanding about his or her situation or find and use new personal strengths.
Often a person's body will reveal helpful information about how to see or approach a challenge. I love and specialize in helping people to heal by including their body in the healing process. However, I always adapt my approach to an individual's preferences.
Training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, 12 Step and addiction treatments, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), body-oriented methods, Psychodrama and traditional psychotherapies bolster my skills with clients. As a client, you will work together with me to choose the methods that work best for you. When appropriate, I refer to other professionals such as psychiatrists, social service agencies, complementary therapies providers and physicians.
More Info About My Practice
I take a number of insurances such as Blue Cross/Blue Shield, POMCO, Coventry, 1199. For people who do not have insurance, my fees range from $100-130 per session. However, I also speak with everyone about their financial and employment situations. You and I will discover together if and how a sliding scale may assist you to receive psychotherapy with Gentle Growth Therapeutic Services.

How Psychotherapy Can Help
Clients seem to meet their goals for therapy by finding a compassionate and competent therapist who seems to undersatnd them, discussing their concerns openly and frequently reviewing how they feel the therapy is working for them.
