My Approach to Helping
Sex addicts use sex in the same way an alcoholic uses alcohol. Sex is used to numb and medicate feelings and escape from the painful aspects of their lives. The sexual experience becomes mood altering and in time becomes central to the sex addict's life. The key to recovery is helping the addict learn how to cope with pain and real life without his/her drug of choice....sex. The recovery work includes individual and group counseling. We also require reading sexual addiction literature. Recovery works if it is worked!

More Info About My Practice
I received specialized training in treating sexual addiction from Dr. Patrick Carnes and am a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist (CSAT). But I did not just go to college or a training program and read about recovery from sexual addiction. I personally "lived the life" and went through my own journey of recovery. Who is better able to help you than a counselor who knows what you are struggling with and also personally knows what it will take to heal?
