While I have a broad range of experience, I have studied most extensively in the area of psychological and complex trauma due to disruptions in early-life attachments resulting from chaotic and dysfunctional family dynamics. Distressing or confusing childhood experiences can disturb one's ability to form secure attachments during their youth. Consequently, later-life attachments/relationships can be profoundly disorganized and rife with conflict.
My method of treatment is based upon a thoughtful approach combining both attachment theory of human development and psychoanalytic process.
While I specialize in the treatment of adolescents and adults, my advanced training in complex trauma extends to children of all ages.
On-site psychiatric/medication evaluations also are available by appointment.
