My Approach to Helping

Life is a journey that provides us with opportunities to learn new skills and grow. I offer professional guidance to help you move forward when you feel helpless, lost, or stuck.

Therapy is a process. In our sessions together, I will work closely with you to develop an effective treatment plan and set practical therapeutic goals to assist you each step of the way. During treatment, I utilize a wide range of techniques that are grounded in evidence-based modalities such as experiential therapy, systems therapy, attachment theory, and cognitive behavioral therapy. I also offer Christian-based counseling upon request.

It is important to remember that it may take time to achieve long-term health. You may also have negative feelings or experiences as you try to make positive changes, but this is normal. By facing and overcoming these challenges you can grow as a person, resolve major life issues, and strengthen the relationships in your life.

More Info About My Practice

I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Texas who has been providing mental health services for more than six years. I offer effective treatment to people of all ages, including teenagers and children.

I earned a Master?s degree in counseling from Dallas Baptist University in Dallas, Texas. Before entering the mental health field, I worked in the defense and telecom industries.

After 25 years of marriage, my wife developed a rare form of dementia. As I cared for her during the last 6 years of her life, I developed a love for counseling and worked towards becoming a therapist. My personal experiences with my wife have helped me develop a deep understanding of dementia, caregiver stress, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and the challenges of starting over.

While life may be difficult at times, you do not have to face your obstacles alone. Counseling may be my third career, but it has given me a wonderful opportunity to help many people find real joy in their lives.
