My Approach to Helping
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 20 years of experience working with a wide range of clients in various life stages and settings. After graduating from UC Davis with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and English, I went on to earn a master’s in counseling psychology from the University of San Francisco as well as a master’s in organizational psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology.
I was born and raised in the Bay Area and have an intense appreciation for the diverse strengths of the community. I pride myself on being a multiculturally competent practitioner and enthusiastically and humbly strive to learn about the unique perspective that every client brings to the therapeutic relationship. Using a trauma-informed and evidence-based approach combining cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and family systems theory, I educate clients on how behaviors, thoughts, and environment contribute to problems and collaboratively explore effective coping skills to independently manage these problems going forward. I understand therapy takes commitment and courage, and I take pride in creating a warm and inviting atmosphere with a heavy dose of authenticity and humor.
