My Approach to Helping
Life is not always easy. The stress and demands of relationships, work responsibilities, and expectations we sometimes put on ourselves can create an high amount of stress. Chronic and high amounts of stress can lead to mental health or emotional concerns that affect daily life and function. This is when therapy may be helpful. Doctors and therapists treat mental health problems just like any medical problem. For instance, if you break your leg, you go to an orthopedic doctor. If you have an earache, you see an ear, nose, and throat specialist. If you are depressed, anxious, or need someone to talk to, you go to a therapist.
Therapy offers many benefits including adding to your support network; gaining a better understanding of yourself; learning how to handle emotions; identifying underlying causes of symptoms; providing coping strategies; managing symptoms; and facilitating lifestyle changes.
