My Approach to Helping

Would you like to wake up in the morning and feel good about yourself and the decisions you’ve made? Do you ever wish you had better relationships with the people in your life? How awesome would it be to be able to start going after your goals and start enjoying more respect in your life? Have you ever been burnt by a bad therapy experience?

We have to work hard to find our voice and to be able to stand up for ourselves- both to other people and to ourselves. As Ze Frank said in his TED talk, “Did you ever realize that you can be a real a**hole to yourself?”

I work with people that are navigating difficult changes in their life. If you’ve ever felt worried about *everything* on a daily basis, doubted yourself, or have struggled to overcome people being condescending or mean to you, I can help you. I can help you to learn how to interact with other people in ways that are more likely to preserve your self-respect, if not get your goals met. I can also help you to take control of the daily grind of emotions or deal with more intense emotional situations. We can talk about practical solutions and then talk about the deeper meaning of life, whichever feels best for you. If this sounds like a good match for you, I invite you to have a look at my website, shoot me an email, or give me a call. I am excited and ready to help you find your voice.

Had a Negative Therapy Experience?

I could be a good match for you. Too many people have been burned by bad therapists and I have passionate opinions about that. If you?ve ever left a therapist for making you feel like garbage for using real language, being frank about your emotions, or they've ended up hijacking your session to talk about themselves and their personal values--I may be able to help you trust therapy again. For potential Utah clients, I am a non-LDS therapist. I do not proselytize. I believe in total acceptance and unconditional positive regard for all, with special focus on cultural humility and sensitivity to religious and spiritual abuse.
