My Approach to Helping

People, given the opportunity, are motivated to move towards health and healing. I have a strong background in psychodynamic therapy, which explores the interplay between one's history and current experiences and relationships. Attachment focussed therapy helps heal old wounds, changing the lens with with we view ourselves and the world, leading to more healthy and conscious decisions. The therapeutic relationship becomes a source of healing and reprocessing of patterns.

I am Certified and an Approved Consultant in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which is a specialized therapy used for symptom relief, reprocessing and healing of trauma, whether from the distant past or from a recent event. This therapy is highly effective with complex trauma, single incident trauma, anxiety, phobias, depression and addictions. Attachment Focussed-EMDR addresses the mind-body connection and helps to reprocess the ways in which trauma becomes encoded in our bodies. I am a Certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP). I facilitate trainings in both AF-EMDR as well as SE. My approach is collaborative, multilayered and individualized.

I honor the therapist-client relationship and provide a safe, ethical and confidential environment. Above all else, therapy is a collaborative effort that can bring transformation, compassion and growth.

More Info About My Practice

My fee ranges from $250 to $275 per session. Attachment Focussed-EMDR and Somatic Experiencing trauma processing sessions may run longer and the cost is commensurate with the time. Please feel free to ask any questions about therapy, goals, duration and fees, and I will answer your questions.

Initial sessions are geared toward a thorough evaluation and history-taking in order to learn more about your background, symptoms and reason for beginning therapy. If appropriate, referrals to other health or medical professionals will be provided.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

Being part of a collaborative effort requires hard work, dedication and commitment on both our parts. The time and cost involved in therapy is outweighed by the changes that take place in the therapeutic relationship. It is truly an honor to witness a client's transformation resulting in symptom reduction, even absence, and greater self-awareness, growth, self-confidence, compassion and satisfaction.
