My Approach to Helping
Ever feel like you’re “living for the Likes”?
Like you “should be” a lot happier than you feel?
Like your career looks great on paper—and that’s it?
Like everyone around you knows exactly what they want—and you have no idea?
My unique blend of therapy and coaching allows you to gain insight into the reasons why you are feeling dissatisfied while simultaneously setting and achieving your goals. We'll tackle your anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationships, and identity, to just name a few. Together we will reshape how you see yourself and your world by examining your beliefs, looking at their origins and begin to re-write your story.
I don't believe therapy (or coaching) should last forever. My goal is for you not to see me. I provide simple and actionable tools and techniques so you can take what you learn from our sessions and do it on your own. This approach will allow you to be able to put into practice the permanent changes you want to make. This is your opportunity to create new habits, identify unhealthy patterns, and cultivate a new way of thinking about yourself and the people around you.
Schedule your free 30-minute phone consultation. Life can be overwhelming, but you don't have to do this alone. Let me help you through this unique but overwhelming time in your life.
More Info About My Practice
Do you think you may be struggling with the dreaded "quarter-life crisis?"
Your 20s are a time of transition and many people experience intense personal and social pressures to succeed or make changes. And you thought peer pressure ended in high school? Some of your peers are getting married, having children, or buying houses. Some are enjoying unbelievable career success. Some are leaving their careers behind to develop entirely new identities.
No matter the changes you're going through, change can intensify feelings and quickly escalate to crisis. You may find that you're having increasingly negative thoughts. Perhaps you are losing your usual motivation. Maybe feelings of anxiety about the future and the choices you have made are intensifying.
These feelings are your wake-up call.
This is where I come in. I specialize in working with young people who need inspiration, support, and guidance in managing this exciting but overwhelming time.
I'll help you:
Manage your emotions and negative thinking
Identify your values
Make fear your friend
Learn to make decisions you actually feel good about
Turn off all of the "outside noise" in our world today
This is not your parent's mid-life crisis. There are no flashy cars or homes to buy that will make the crisis pass.
This is your "crisis," and the perfect time to figure out what is truly important to you.
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
Being a therapist is an honor. There is no other profession where a person in pain is willing to put their trust in you and allow you to hold their secrets. I feel privileged that someone would allow me to help them figure what is making them feel stuck in their lives. As corny as it sounds, I do feel like I am making a difference in the world.
Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist
It is important to feel like your therapist is someone you can trust and feel comfortable with. A therapist should challenge you but not make you feel bad about yourself or the choices you have made or are still making. This is a process the two of you are going through together, therefore the person you ultimately choose should make you feel supported and understood.
The Duration and Frequency of Therapy
I don't believe therapy needs to last forever. I provide a hybrid of therapy and coaching. At some point the you need to go out and live your life and put in practice the tools you have learned.
