My Approach to Helping
Deciding what I wanted to be when I grew up was an easy choice. I always gravitated toward working with people and working on teams. I find that therapy is a team effort with an important goal in mind. As a therapist, I have grown accustomed to using cognitive behavioral frameworks in my practice, as well as utilizing concepts and techniques from dialectical behavior therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy depending on client needs. I prefer getting a well-rounded perspective of clients, starting with an intake session and continuing to examine all domains of one’s life as a whole throughout the therapy process. Additionally, I am a Registered Art Therapist. Though art therapy is not the appropriate modality all the time, I often find that solutions can come when we open ourselves to creativity or just something new.
