My Approach to Helping

I know that entering counseling can feel uncomfortable or uneasy, but it is even harder to struggle alone in silence. Working through challenging emotions can be a task, but you no longer have to do it alone. I am here as a helping hand to get you through the difficult times. My name is Takira Harvey, and I am a licensed clinical social worker for the state of California. I have over 10 years’ experience working with individuals suffering from depression, postpartum depression, anxiety, bipolar, difficulties with self-esteem, post-traumatic stress, and other mood disturbances.
My greatest professional ability is meeting each of my clients' unique needs by gaining an in-depth understanding of their circumstances, problems, and requirements. I utilized a variety of evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, client-centered approach, psychotherapy, and more. I understand that each individual is unique, so I am flexible in my approaches to addressing each individual’s concerns. During our first session, my focus is on creating a safe environment and building a therapeutic relationship. I believe that this is the foundation to working towards your goals and healing.
