My Approach to Therapy

Why do I feel this way? Many people ask this question when anxiety takes hold of their lives and makes them feel like they have lost control. Often, clients tell me that things are going well. They have everything they thought they wanted, yet each day feels like an exhausting battle. Please know you are not alone. I understand the immense struggle anxiety can bring to our lives. I can help you build the skills you need to manage it. As we work together to better understand what fuels your anxiety, I will help you learn tools so you can face each day and truly feel in control of those scary thoughts and feelings. Whether your anxiety comes from a specific event, such as a major life transition, a traumatic episode, or relationship difficulties, or you have lived with it for most of your life, I am here to help. I use elements of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and a warm, client-centered, empathetic approach to support you in getting your life back. My personal approach is to create a safe, caring space for you to share and process your emotions. I am trained in a number of different clinical approaches. We will decide together what will best meet your needs. I feel truly grateful to do this work. I would love to hear from you.
