My Approach to Helping
I specialize in working with helping professionals, parents, queer folk, and teens who are searching for who they are and struggling with their relationships with their emotions. In therapy, I prioritize building a connection where you have the freedom and safety to explore who you are, especially when there's uncertainty in the process. By exploring the depths of your inner world, I will support you in gaining valuable insights into the patterns, beliefs, and experiences that shape your lives. From here, you can take action and make changes from a place that is integrating all part of your identity.
More Info About My Practice
I thrive when working with individuals who are going through life transition - through their careers, into parenthood, or through identity exploration (like religious or sexuality). I'm particularly drawn toward helping people explore and manage mood issues that were persistent either before the transition or as a result from the change - things like depression, trauma (chronic or complex), and anxiety. Counseling gives us the opportunity to better understand ourselves; to learn how our past has shaped the present and we can move into the future with greater peace, intention and hope for ourselves and those around us.
Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed
I have a growth-oriented perspective towards therapy, meaning that anyone would benefit from the time to explore and focus on personal development. While many people may be seeking therapy because of struggling with mood issues or trauma, it doesn't mean that therapy is for people who need to be fixed.
