My Approach to Helping
I am interested in helping others gain understanding about themselves and how to manage their internal worlds. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a master’s degree in psychology, I believe that we can look inward to find strengths that maybe we forgot about, then use them to move toward a more personally satisfying reality. My time working in settings like hospice and residential treatment for substance abuse has given me valuable experience helping people understand their emotions and how they play a role in their daily lives. My approach is collaborative and I see the client-therapist relationship as being a means for change. I use a variety of techniques and approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Solution-Focused Therapy, to help them reach their goals. I enjoy working with clients who are seeking to better understand themselves, make changes in their lives, and are willing to look closer at their internal worlds so they can better influence their outer worlds.
