My Approach to Helping

EMDR can help with depression, history of abuse, trauma, disturbing thoughts/memories, phobias, addictions, eating disorders, pain, sleep, anger, OCD, relationship issues, grief, trust issues, guilt, shame, and more.
Research has shown that EMDR is effective in helping people process painful and traumatic experiences or emotions. When negative experiences get "stuck" in our brains, the process of EMDR helps our brains let go and become more adaptive. Many people report feeling dramatically better after only one or two sessions, although a few more may be needed to complete the process.
EMDR is recognized as an effective treatment for post-traumatic stress by the US Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense, and many other National and International agencies.
As a therapist, I have also experienced the benefits of EMDR first-hand as a client.
I also specialize in working with infidelity, divorce-related issues, and blended families. In addition, I maintain my license as a Registered Nurse, and enjoy working with clients on health related issues.
