My Approach to Helping

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read this. My clinical specialities and areas of professional interest include anxiety, depression, addiction, life transitions, resiliency within family systems, relationships, heartbreak, and issues related to stress and self-care. I work with adults and adolescents and specifically tailor treatment to your needs using scientifically proven methods. I approach treatment with a warm, empathic, and straightforward attitude and believe building a strong therapeutic alliance is key in making the most of therapy. I am passionate about helping people find peace and direction within their lives, no matter what the difficulty may be. My primary area of focus is treating anxiety and adjustment issues. The current political and social climate is just one area that has caused many to lose focus and feel confused, empty, and detached. Life transitions are not easy and can rarely be dealt with alone; I’d love the opportunity to help you navigate through uncertainty and chaos that life presents.

More Info About My Practice

My integrative approach is straightforward, open, empathetic, and solution-focused. You hold the answers and are the expert in your own life; with therapeutic guidance and direction, you can learn the skills necessary to stop anxiety and negative thoughts regulating unwanted behavior and emotions. I use effective and scientifically based treatment methodologies tailored to your specific treatment plan. Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) combined with mindfulness-based and solution-focused based therapies have proven to be most effective in my work. I look forward to working with you!

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

The client-therapist alliance is hugely important in facilitating positive movement and growth. It is my view that therapy is most successful when the client and therapist have a strong and trusting relationship. My approach is warm and somewhat unconventional, as I incorporate humor and metaphors and whatever I believe will be beneficial to your needs.
