My Approach to Helping
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist by training, however I practice as a Holistic Psychotherapist and a Stress Management Coach. For over 20 years, I have been interested in non-medical, holistic & integrative approaches to healing mental health disorders, such as chronic anxiety and depression, chronic stress and healing from childhood abuse and trauma. I have studied Eastern Spiritual Practices and I meditate daily. This helped me in overcoming my own struggles and over the last 15 years, hundreds of my clients benefited from it. My goal is to help my clients live happy and productive lives without having to rely on anti-depressants or other medication prescribed to reduce symptoms of chronic anxiety and depression. I ONLY work with adults individually; couples therapy case-by-case scenario for minor issues, self-pay only.
In addition to my MS degree in Marriage Counseling (2003 University of Miami, Coral Gables) I also obtained training as a Professional Life Coach at the Institute for Life Coaching, accredited by the Institute for Life Coach Training. I received training in clinical hypnosis by the FL Society of Clinical Hypnosis, and I am a Certified Neuro-Linguistic Programming Practitioner (NLP).
Over the years, I worked for many prominent agencies in Miami-Dade and Broward County, including Jewish Community Services, the Switchboard of Miami, Memorial Healthcare Systems, and Chrysalis Center. I worked with clients from ages two to old age, from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds and especially working with professionals-immigrants from European countries. I worked with a variety of issues and challenges including abuse, anxiety, depression, chronic stress, trauma, PTSD, career-related challenges and transitions.
I believe that in order to heal from physical ailments and illnesses, we need to also take care of our emotional, mental, spiritual, and financial health. I use collaborative and integrative approach and regularly consult with other medical and wellness professionals to find the solutions that help my clients finally find relief and hope from suffering for years. Most of the time, they have been taking antidepressants without any consistent success as well as gaining weight and having reduced libido. Furthermore, they were prescribed other medication for Celiac disease, acid reflux, and GI issues that in most cases resulted from chronic stress. Many times just correcting diet, getting enough sleep, getting regular exercise, learning stress management techniques, and taking necessary supplements will drastically improve, or even finally end chronic anxiety and depression.
