My Approach to Helping
Selecting the right therapist who has the clinical training, experience and expertise to help you can be confusing. With more than fifteen (15) years of international experience as a psychotherapist, I have successfully helped numerous clients who suffered from a wide spectrum of "unhealthy" emotions, such as anxiety, depression, anger, grief, trauma, and chronic stress. I also specialize in multicultural issues. My goal is to help you to reach your full potential by overcoming symptoms that are inhibiting you from reaching it. I see the psychotherapy as an ongoing and collaborative process between two of us. My mission is to teach you useful skills that will help you to deal with not only the current problems but also with future problems you might encounter.
I utilize up-to-date approaches tied to cognitive-behavioral, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness principles including a wide variety of relaxation and stress management techniques. These approaches are largely evidence-based which means that they are scientifically proven. I strive to tailor these approaches and their techniques to your unique needs.
I am an active therapist who asks questions and offers consistent feedback to guide the session's focus. I am also a directive and goal oriented therapist who would help you to clarify and to achieve your goals. It is my belief that only the counseling process in which all parties are actively involved leads to a transformational long-lasting lifestyle change.
