My Approach to Helping
I am frequently asked, "Is it really possible to feel better?" My answer is always "yes." The next question is typically, "how?" My role as a therapist is to guide you through your unique "how." My approach is not to present as an expert on your life; instead, provide you with support, compassion, and guidance in exploring your unique experiences that may be holding you back from reaching your full potential and emotional well being. I value a collaborate approach to therapy. I believe a meaningful goal for therapy is accomplished when you are able to identify, and listen to, your own, internal wisdom for coping with life's challenges and stressors. I enjoy incorporating gratitude and humor with a variety of therapeutic interventions such as CBT and DBT skills to address an array of life stressors and improve emotional wellbeing. I am greatly honored by the bravery it takes to explore your challenges in order to develop a full understanding of where you want to be and how to get there. I value striving for reduced suffering even when life is stressful. We all have paths to greater emotional well-being and happiness. Sometimes we just need a little guidance in a supportive, nonjudgmental environment to help get us there. I look forward to guiding you through your own journey of self awareness and self acceptance in order to strive for improved emotional growth.
