My Approach to Therapy

believe the relationship between therapist and client isn't just where the work happens — it is the work. So much of what we carry took shape in relationships, and being in a safe, genuine one is often how it starts to heal. My job is to build that safety: to meet you exactly where you are, listen without judgment, and stay steady whether you arrive guarded or wide open. I work with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, attachment wounds, and the everyday weight of just trying to feel like themselves again — and I bring warmth, collaboration, and a healthy dose of humor to keep things real. If you're ready to be fully human in the process, without pressure to perform or have it all figured out, I'd love to hear from you.

My Practice & Services

Cardinal Psychotherapy & Coaching is an independent, therapist-owned group practice in Oakdale, Minnesota, serving clients across the Twin Cities and statewide via telehealth. We're intentionally small and never overbooked, which means you get real access to your therapist — including their direct phone and email — rather than a system to navigate. A dedicated admin coordinator handles billing and account questions, so your time in session stays focused on you. We offer individual therapy for adults, and welcome you to schedule a free 20-minute consultation to see whether we're the right fit before committing to anything.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

My deepest work is with complex and developmental trauma — the kind that shapes how you relate to yourself and others long after the original events. I'm especially skilled at helping adults with attachment wounds, dissociation, and the patterns that grow out of difficult family-of-origin experiences. Using Internal Family Systems and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), I help clients process painful memories and make sense of the parts of themselves that feel stuck, reactive, or hard to understand. I also work extensively with anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, anger, ADHD, adoption, and the particular overwhelm that comes with parenting. Whether your struggle has a clear name or you just know something feels off, you don't have to have it figured out to begin.

My Role as a Therapist

I see my role as creating a space where you can show up exactly as you are — without pressure to perform, filter, or have everything figured out. My job is to meet you where you are that day and to stay present with you there, whatever you bring. I believe change happens not only through understanding ourselves more deeply, but through feeling safe enough to be fully human in the process, and I take both halves of that seriously. I'll bring warmth, collaboration, and an honest, real presence — sometimes with a healthy dose of humor to keep things grounded. More than anything, my role is to help you make sense of your own experience and trust yourself in it.
