Tessa likes to provide therapy that addresses a person's mental, physical and spiritual health (holistic care). Tessa has been working in mental health for 8 years, as a therapist for 3 years, and is passionate about health-mental & physical. Tessa has personal and professional experience in the field, has overcome many of her own life challenges, has three children of her own and has taken many classes to further her education past her masters degree. She is trained in EMDR, CBT, DBT, diagnosing 0-5 years old and autism. She has worked in case management, in-home services and residential treatment.

You are not alone and it is possible to get to a better place. At Lakeview, we provide a comforting space, tools, resources & encouragement. This can enable you to reach recovery and your goals faster with a counselor at your side. We utilize a strength-based, compassionate and empowering approach to therapy.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

I have been through some natural disasters where I had PTSD for several years from this and from a previous relationship, I moved around with the military as a military spouse for 7 years and lived in Japan for 3 years, and have been a mom for 16 years. I also have loved ones with mental illness and been a caretaker for a loved one that passed away. I came from a broken home early on, but also had the experience of a healed family. I feel my life experience has given me the ability to relate to clients on a deeper level, to show not just compassion, but empathy when it's a similar life event or experience. I have a close relationship with God through my faith, but I also am able to just be present with a client and where they are at or if there beliefs are different, that is okay also. I am able to be very present with my client and focus on and encourage them to get to where they hope to be at! You can do it and you don't have to do it alone! Reach out today. Any questions are welcomed!
