My Approach to Helping

Hi. I'm Katherine. I help overwhelmed, exhausted, and stuck women and teens to unravel what isn't working, then rebuild more joyful and fulfilling lives. I find that many of my clients have had challenging pasts which have left them exhausted, anxious, depressed and unsure of what steps to take to start feeling better.

I recognize that therapy is an art as much as it is a science. We all come from different contexts, so there is no "one approach fits all". While I have training and experience in a number of evidenced-based therapeutic approaches, I find the trust and rapport that I share with my clients to be the number 1 factor in whether therapy is successful for them. That's why I offer a free phone consultation to each potential client to ensure that I am a good fit for his/her needs.

My client and I together decide on a course of therapy and combination of approaches to fit the specific client and his/her particular challenge. We will use strategies that give relief and coping mechanisms today while diagnosing and readjusting the root causes for the challenges faced.

In an increasingly disconnected world it should come as no surprise that depression and anxiety are at an all-time high. The cycle needs to stop, but few of us are able to get through the process alone. On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

The decision to begin therapy can be daunting! First and foremost, it can seem really difficult knowing which therapist to choose, and on top of that the realization hits that you're going to need to trust this person with some of your deepest, scariest, and/or emotionally challenging thoughts.
