My Approach to Helping

Are you in transition? Struggling with anxiety, depression, self-criticism or low self-esteem? Wanting to feel more empowered in your life, relationships and work? Tired of simply surviving? Are you seeking a warm, caring and skilled therapist who will listen and help support you to create a life that truly reflects and supports your aspirations and dreams? Who is devoted to your well-being and can offer both the practical help and emotional support to help you to thrive? If so, I'd like to help.

My approach to therapeutic work is grounded in holistic methodology. I work from a strength-based approach to empower my clients. I incorporate several different theories and models so I can utilize interventions that are uniquely tailored to each individual. I start with each client from a humanistic and relational standpoint to focus on the relationship and allow people to arrive as they are. Humanistic means that I work from a place of non-judgment. There are enough ways that we experience judgment and shame in the outside world that I work hard to provide a space that is free of that. I accept you as you are.

I am fully train is Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) which I utilize in my practice.

More Info About My Practice

I focus on creating a safe environment for my clients because coming into therapy, itself, can be very exposing. Admitting there is something that we want to change about ourselves or our lives is hard and it takes great courage.
I am a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist #IMF101873. I work with teens, adults, and couples. I specialize in working with people who are couples in conflict, individuals who struggle with self-acceptance, self-esteem, and self-worth. I help individuals look at their patterns in life and in relationships to help repair the hurt in their hearts. I am fully trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) by the Institute of Creative Mindfulness.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

A lot of wounding happens within relationships and I put great importance on the relationship between therapist and client. Developing a safe relationship with a therapist allows people to heal from all the relational wounding we can experience on a daily basis. Working relationally is to support people in finding healing and safety within a facet of life that is often harmful.
