My Approach to Helping

Hello, I am Jordan. Welcome, and know I am eager to embark on this exploratory journey with you. I am passionate about working with adults, adolescents, and couples to address anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship problems, grief, life adjustments, body image, and other concerns. I affirm all gender, sexual, and cultural identities.

While some approach therapy with a “corrective lens”, I endorse a holistic and relational approach that disentangles unwanted thoughts, behaviors, and feelings and supports your authoring of new and empowering self-narratives. Through compassion, attunement, and mutuality, I hope to create an affirming realm to tend to harmful experiences and promote movement towards your goals.

The root of the word “therapy” is therapeia, one translation of which is “an attendance”. I consider therapy an opportunity to collaboratively dialogue about relationships and yourself with the promise of non-judgmental attendance to your words, emotions, and values. Too often we are fed prescriptive messages from society or others about the “right” way to heal or grow. In this space, we will uncover your narrative and explore the people and experiences that have shaped you with the goal of achieving a greater sense of connectedness, clarity, and well-being.

More Info About My Practice

I belong to a highly passionate, trauma-informed team of three folks who believe in a person-centered and affirmative approach. Central to our team's philosophy is attention to systems of oppression and sociocultural factors that impact you, your relationships, and ways of engaging in the world.

My Role as a Therapist

To serve as a mirror to your own resilience, and act as a facilitating and empowering force in realms of fear, hurt, confusion, and disconnectedness.

What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process

Many myths and stigma about therapy exist- allow us to dispel them together. Therapy at its core is attuned conversation with the goal of deriving insight, encouraging growth, and minimizing unwanted thoughts, behaviors and emotions. Your emotional wellbeing is my priority, and validating your experiences and honoring boundaries is a guarantee of my practice.
