What's My Approach to Therapy?

As a trauma survivor, I know the impact it has on our relationships with ourselves, others, and the world. Healing from within is possible! I work with people who have experienced trauma, emotional neglect, perfectionism, or deep sensitivity and are longing to feel more connected to themselves. Many of my clients struggle with self-criticism, overwhelming emotions, or patterns that no longer feel supportive. Together, we’ll explore your inner world with care and curiosity as you learn to respond to your emotions with compassion rather than suppression, building a steady, loving relationship with yourself from the inside out.

My background is rooted in trauma-focused, attachment-oriented work, informed by Internal Family Systems (parts-work), Brainspotting, and body-based approaches. I help clients explore what’s happening beneath patterns of protection, both emotionally and physiologically, at a pace that feels respectful to the nervous system.

In our work, we get curious about the inner parts that have taken on overwhelming feelings or burdens from the past, and the parts that work hard to keep life moving. As these experiences are witnessed with compassion and without pressure to change, many clients discover more clarity, calm, and a sense of inner steadiness. The healing process becomes less about fixing what’s “wrong” and more about reconnecting with innate wisdom and resilience.

COMMON CONCERNS I SUPPORT:

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder- IFS and Brainspotting gently allow us to access parts of a person that hold trauma and unprocessed emotional pain. This work helps create new pathways in the brain, supporting clients in responding to trauma triggers with internal support, reducing overwhelm, and gradually building emotional clarity, resilience, and a sense of inner safety.

Self-Esteem- IFS and Brainspotting help clients build relationships with parts of a person that carry self-criticism, shame, or perfectionistic pressures. Developing a loving relationship with oneself supports self-compassion, inner validation, and resilience, allowing more flexibility, empowered decision-making, and healthier responses than relying on protective parts and ineffective self-talk.

Interpersonal and Relationship Concerns- IFS and Brainspotting help explore parts of a person that influence relational patterns and attachment wounds. Clients learn to respond to themselves and others with more flexibility, curiosity, and care. This work also supports practicing practical skills, including assertive and nonviolent communication, while building self-compassion and healthier, more authentic connections.

MY QUALIFICATIONS:

I am Level 1 trained in Internal Family Systems. This approach explores the parts of a person that carry emotions, beliefs, protective strategies, and sometimes deep emotional pain. Together we notice how these parts show up and learn to respond with curiosity and care, helping clients develop self-compassion, clarity, and trust in their own inner wisdom.

I am Phase 2 trained in Brainspotting, a body and mindfulness-focused approach that uses eye positions and the visual field to connect with parts of the brain holding unprocessed trauma and emotions. We use the body to guide and support the process, helping clients release tension, gain emotional clarity, and build self-compassion.

I hold an MA in Counseling Psychology (CU Denver, 2015), worked in community mental health before opening my practice in 2018, and continue specialized training in trauma and mind-body therapies.

My Practice & Services

I offer both in-person and telehealth sessions. From my in-person office in City Park West, I also offer walk-and-talk sessions.

I am in-network with most major insurance plans, which I bill through third party companies, Headway andor Alma (depending on your insurance plan). I can also provide a superbill for out-of-network clients to request reimbursement.

My Guiding Ethical Principles

I see therapy as a shared journey and do my best to show up thoughtfully and authentically. I welcome open dialogue and feedback, knowing that connection grows when we approach each other with curiosity and respect.

I identify as a white woman and strive to be aware of how my identities and privileges enter the therapy space, understanding that I will not always get it perfectly. I aim to practice with humility, affirming LGBTQIA+ clients and honoring racial, cultural, and gender diversity, while learning from each person?s experiences. I honor that clients are the experts of their own inner lives, and I am here to support growth with care, curiosity, and integrity.
