My Approach to Helping

My focus is to promote your strengths to help you achieve your goals. You have within you what you need to succeed. I offer a non-judgmental space for you to explore what it means to be authentically you. Our time spent together generally focuses on the here and now, while understanding that events in your past affect your present. My approach is systemic, which means that we consider how the world around you influences your current situation. Seeing this broader picture can help you learn how to take a more active role in shaping your life.

More Info About My Practice

My practice is LGBTQ, polyamory, and kink knowledgeable and affirming. I have experience working with trans folks and enjoy exploring gender identity. I also enjoy helping you find ways to strengthen your relationships, both with yourself and with others who are important to you. I work with individuals, couples, and families of any configuration.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

As a member of the community I serve, I know from experience that it can be difficult to find providers who truly understand the nuances of living life as a sexual and relationship minority. I became a counselor in order to provide a safe space for my community. My main goal is to promote your well being.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

The relationship between client and therapist is an important healing aspect of therapy. My role in this alliance is to support you and challenge you with the intent of encouraging your personal growth. Therapy is a joint effort between client and therapist to reach your goals.
