My Approach to Therapy

Life feels heavy when you’re always trying harder but still falling behind. You want to be loving and dependable, but you struggle to feel motivated, lose track of time, or get overwhelmed and shut down. You learned early to handle things on your own and not ask for much. Now small rejections can spiral into hours of worry. You've been called lazy or too sensitive. On the outside, you seem fine, while inside, you feel scattered and anxious that being too much will push people away. You're ready for life to feel more manageable and less overwhelming. You want to follow through without burnout, stop people pleasing, and learn to trust your decisions. You want relationships that feel supportive instead of draining. If you're tired of carrying it all alone, I'm here to help you! I work with neurodivergent adults and teens using practical, skills-based therapy and deep internal work. Together we will develop systems that actually work for your brain, while reducing overwhelm, improving self-confidence, and strengthening your relationships. Reach out to schedule your free 15-minute consult today!

My Practice & Services

I consider myself a practical therapist! I will definitely help you emotionally process and feel understood. I will also help you develop coping tools and strategies that make life feel easier and more manageable. At the end of each session, we will discuss something for you to apply or consider in between our sessions so you practice what we discuss and have the support to improve your skills. We will work together until you gain the confidence to fly on your own!

How Psychotherapy Can Help

Trust me, I've wondered how therapy can help for myself. I am stubborn in thinking that I can do it all on my own. I can just read all the books and listen to all the podcasts I need to and I'll figure it out, right? It took me a while to get a therapist for myself because I am one and I know a lot about therapy and coping strategies! What I've found helpful is having someone outside of my own mind who can offer feedback from an unbiased place. It is so hard to make changes in your mind when you're always in your mind! I also believe we can learn from everyone we meet. Meeting with my own therapist, I've been able to gain perspective and recognize my personal strengths and weaknesses. As my own worst critic, I've also been able view myself much more fairly and develop self-compassion as I've been able to understand myself a little more through someone else's eyes. It is also a confidential and dedicated space just for YOU to be seen, heard, and understood. Therapy is not meant to last forever. I meet with my own therapist less frequently than I used to. It is meant to be there until you feel confident and able to manage life without the extra support. When you're done with therapy, it is a place you can come back to when you need it in the future. Reach out today to get the extra support you are seeking! (You're already here, aren't you? :) )

Had a Negative Therapy Experience?

Tell me about it! The stories I've heard blow my mind. It is true that there are many different therapists out there, and I want you to have someone who is the right fit for you! I typically ask new clients what they've liked and disliked about past therapists because I don't want to work with you if I'm not the right fit. Typically, folks tell me that they talked but didn't learn much or change from past therapy. I am all about teaching you specific strategies to implement to find relief. Let's chat about it and see how we can make this a much better therapy experience!
