What's My Approach to Therapy?

I help couples and individuals change unwanted patterns in their lives so that they feel confident in themselves and in their relationships.

Do you feel stuck in negative patterns in the important relationships in your life, with loved ones, coworkers, friends, or family? Have you felt depressed, anxious, or frustrated because these struggles in your relationships impact other areas of your life? Together, we can figure out what is really going on. There is an explanation for these patterns that keep repeating, and I want to help you discover what causes them and how they can be changed.

I believe that healthy and fulfilling relationships are the beginning of change in all other areas of life. My goal is for us to understand the core struggles you are facing and to provide you with proven tools that lead to change in yourself and in the relationships that matter the most. If you struggle with depression, anxiety, loneliness, anger, or substance addiction, understanding and changing patterns is the beginning of healing.

I have done extensive training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method and studied what builds healthy relationships and how having our emotional needs met and understood by others builds self-confidence and leads to positive change in all other areas of our lives. I have created a safe, accepting place for you to discuss what is happening in your life so that together we can work to make the changes you desire to see so that your life feels better.

My Practice & Services

I believe that everyone can change and grow at any point in their lives. The cycles we find ourselves stuck in often come from good places, and behaviours that keep us in these patterns are our best attempt to create safety for ourselves and to build connections with others. When we understand why we do what we do, then we can begin to create new patterns that support living the lives we truly desire.

I believe that therapeutic relationships should be accepting, non-judgemental, and safe so that the therapeutic relationship itself can be the beginning of change and provide a foundation for new ways of relating. If you want to change the stuck cycles in your life so that you can improve your relationships and feel better about yourself, please contact me so that we can work together to start making the changes you want to see.
