I approach therapy with the assumption that people have value, strengths and the capacity to make changes in their lives. By providing a safe, non-judgmental space, my goal is to help you explore the areas of your life where you are struggling. We will work together to develop functional goals and I provide you with strategies and support to make changes. I hold a strong belief in treating the body and mind and have enhanced my understanding of the mind-body connection through training in Hakomi and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Treatment for Trauma - both of which are mindfulness-centered, body and mind based therapies.

More Info About My Practice

For almost twenty years, I have worked with children with developmental disabilities and their families, in a variety of capacities. I can provide psychological consultation and counseling privately or through your Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) contract.

In the last ten years, I have also worked largely with individuals who are experiencing out-of-control sexual behavior, relational trauma due to infidelity, sexual health, childhood trauma, anxiety, stress and chronic pain. My experiences in the last few years completing a Ph.D. in Community Health Sciences and research experience in depression and the workplace, have likewise increased my interest in helping individuals dealing with high stress in their workplace and burnout.

What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process

People can be hesitant to come talk to a stranger and be vulnerable, and it is something I understand personally. While it can be scary or intimidating, I want to provide a safe space. Clients are never pressured to talk about things before they are ready, nor would they be pressured to do an activity that was uncomfortable. Therapy is a collaborative process, which means I am open to feedback on how the therapy process is going for the individual and we can work together through both successes and challenges.
