My Approach to Helping
My passion has been to help people break through stress, anxiety, and burnout. Using an integrative and trauma-informed theoretical approach to counselling, I strive to gain and maintain a therapeutic relationship with you, while creating a safe, judgement free, and inclusive environment. At times, session will include art and expressive arts approaches - where creativity can be utilized to encourage healing and growth. It's about finding the approach that fits you and your situation.
Using a collaborative approach, I will allow you the time and space to explore, gain insight, and process, while also leaving you with resources and tools to utilize and work on between sessions. I believe in empowering you so that you are able to reach your full potential through a deeper understanding of yourself and others.

Rooted Counselling Services was created with a primary focus on about self-care - not just physically - but emotionally, mentally, and spiritually as well. I enjoy “sitting in the moment” with people and working through their stories and it is my passion to help people bring change to debilitating deep-rooted thoughts, beliefs, and behaviours. My work has focused on people experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, boundary setting issues, managing expectations, self-esteem, stress and burnout, spiritual issues, substance abuse, and dissociation. I work primarily from a strengths-based approach. Meaning, that I want to set my clients up for success and that looks different for each individual.
Maya Angelou once stated that, "Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it." By empowering you, we can work together to further your goals and make choices that are of interest to you. I'm looking forward to walking beside you on this journey!
