My Approach to Helping

Welcome to a counselling service dedicated to helping individuals manage various addictions through a harm reduction approach. My name is Lara, and I would like to partner with you on the journey towards a healthier, more balanced life.

With a deep understanding of the complexities surrounding addiction, I provide a welcoming and non-judgmental atmosphere where you can feel safe to explore your struggles. Specializing in addiction management involving areas such as alcohol, drugs, mass media, social media, internet, sexpornography abuse, shopping, eating, and beyond, I offer tailored support to address your specific challenges.

I advocate for a harm reduction approach, recognizing that progress looks different for everyone. Whether you're seeking to reduce harmful behaviours, regain control over your life, or simply need someone to listen.

Through personalized counselling sessions, we will work collaboratively to develop practical strategies and coping mechanisms that empower you to make positive changes at your own pace. With a focus on harm reduction, your well-being and autonomy are respected throughout the therapeutic journey.

Embark on the path to healing and transformation, where every step forward is celebrated, and setbacks are viewed as opportunities for growth. Take the first step today towards a life free from the grips of addiction, knowing that you will be supported every step of the way. I have over 12 combined years of healthcare experience, with a Master of Arts in Counselling, DBT certification, and various trainings in trauma and addictions.

Beyond my professional life, I enjoy time with family and friends, travelling, boating, fishing, photographyart, and riding my motorcycle.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

Seeking therapy is not easy. Reaching out for help actually shows strength and courage, not weakness or flaws. Therapy offers a safe space to explore thoughts and emotions, providing tools for managing stress and improving well-being. Like seeking medical or academic help, therapy is a responsible choice for addressing mental health struggles and shows a commitment to personal growth. Therapy helps people gain self-awareness and feel more empowered, and helps them develop healthier coping mechanisms. It's a proactive step toward self-care and should be celebrated as such. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns about therapy.
