My Approach to Helping

Connecting with your therapist is one of the most important predictors of a positive therapeutic outcome. When you find a place where you feel welcome and supported, you can begin the work it takes to move through difficult periods, using the strengths you already possess. Whether you are struggling with new stressors or learning to cope with old wounds, I can provide an environment that is safe to tackle your personal challenges. We will collaborate to learn new coping skills that can work for you and unearth your hidden potential.

My hope is that my clients will discover a renewed zest for living and rediscover the power innate in all of us to thrive in this chaos called life!

At the beginning of my career, I worked in an outpatient mental health clinic, with all age ranges, individually and in groups. As a licensed professional, I have experience in an inpatient setting working with children and their families. Now in private practice, I enjoy working with clients who are ready to face their challenges. Clients who may have roadblocks to change, whether with family, self-esteem issues, worklife or kidlife balance, can find a calming place to work towards any goal.

I am looking forward to hearing from you!

More Info About My Practice

About 2-5% of the population suffers from a body-focused repetitive behavior (BFRB). This is a term that refers to any repetitive self-grooming behavior that results in damage to the body. Some examples of a BFRB include, Trichotillomania (hair-pulling), excoriation (skin-picking), biting or scraping the hair, skin or nails. The difference between "normal" grooming behaviors and a BFRB is when the behavior causes substantial personal distress or interferes with daily functioning.
I have an interest in treating individuals who may suffer from a BFRB. I have attended trainings on the latest treatment options and would be happy to discuss whether you or your loved-one may benefit from this form of therapy. Please, feel free to call to inquire.
