My Approach to Helping
We only get one life.
I feel the impact of these words deeply and I am compelled to help others because of this.
Your life is important to me.
As such, my first and foremost desire is to help you achieve the goals you set for yourself in therapy. Your individual and relational experiences are unique and difficulties cannot be addressed without your input and collaboration.
Your future can be different than your past.
I believe there are things in life that we cannot change and things that we can. The circumstances and challenges that are out of our control, we can learn to cope with--to find a way through. Yet other areas of our life we can choose our outcomes--how we will act or what we will think. While we have no guarantee that change will come easily, we can create a different future working together.
It starts within.
The first step to a better relationship with your partner or a different future for yourself is to determine help is needed. Research suggests that the single most predictive factor of successful therapy is your motivation.
