My Approach to Helping
I consider it a great privilege and gift to walk beside my clients as they ask the tough questions, wrestle with acceptance, and take up the challenge of changing. I believe people can change and that therapy is a powerful tool which can enable a person to engage with problems of living in a creative, active, and reflective manner in order to find new meaning and purpose.
My approach is existential and humanistic. If those terms are unfamiliar to you, what they really mean is that I believe we're all more alike than different. We all struggle with responsibility, vulnerability, and intimacy. We seek meaning in our lives. What matters to me is that you and I are able to forge a relationship together, because our relationship is the crux of successful therapy. And it can only work if it's tailored to you to meet your individual needs in a personalized and holistic way. The best way to accomplish that is to start with a relationship.
