My Approach to Helping
Early in life, I learned the importance of helping others. I grew up watching my mother help others as a nurse. My first volunteer experience took place on a crisis help line, assisting my peers who were overwhelmed with the stressors of being a teenager. I pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Salem College in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and a Master’s of Social Work from North Carolina A & T and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2002. In 2004, I became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and began to provide outpatient therapy. For nearly 20 years post-master’s degree, I have helped individuals, children, and families achieve their goals through inpatient, outpatient, and group therapy.
