My Approach to Helping
Creating Successful Children - Therapy for Children and the Adults in Their Lives
Successful children are happy, socially competent, and secure in developing age appropriate skills. They're able to get along with friends, family, and peers at school. All parents want to help successfully launch their children into independent adulthood, but today's world makes this a daunting task.
Identifying problems as early as possible makes them easier to solve. I offer children and their families both short and long-term interventions. I also help adults identify patterns and feelings that lead them to feel stuck. I'm very proud of the success I've seen my clients achieve, and many of my clients see significant results in just a few sessions. Children are especially likely to see rapid progress.
I have extensive experience and training treating children who have experienced adoption, family stress, and trauma. I hold a BA from Duke University, an MSW from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and an MBA from East Carolina University. I am a licensed clinical social worker with a certification in Neurolinguistic Programming. I provided executive coaching and consulting services with Raleigh Consulting Group. I led court-mandated domestic violence groups. I have traveled extensively in Africa, Central and South America, Europe, Russian, and Mongolia. I'm fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.
