My Approach to Helping
I offer a genuine, warm and direct relationship with my clients. My goal is to help you reach greater self-awareness, insight and to have healthier relationships. Psychotherapy is fundamentally about discovering a deeper sense of personal meaning, greater self-understanding, and self-acceptance. It offers the possibility of coming into contact with a more enlivened state of being. Psychotherapy can help us move through life with a greater degree of freedom and flexibility, feeling more connected to ourselves and others along the way.
I create a safe space to listen carefully and empathically, to help you understand how you have developed into who you are, and what gets in the way in the here and now. There are many ways to do this work. I believe the most important place to start in any modality is by really listening, and establishing a solid therapeutic alliance.
I have a particular interest in depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, life transitions, parents of special needs children and relationship difficulties. I also have a special focus on the perinatal period (pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period).
