My Approach to Helping
I was once asked "What's the main thing that your therapy clients have in common? What brings them in?" After pondering for a moment, I replied: "People very often come in because they feel alone in their experience, alone in their problems." It is my hope that if YOU and I choose to work together, we can do away with the often inaccurate and destructive feelings we cling to such as loneliness and hopelessness. Allow me to gently guide you to a place of greater unity, understanding, and peacefulness. We're all in this together, after all.
With my background in-depth psychotherapy, I am especially suited to working with images, dreams, and even specific words that clients bring to sessions. Working through these means often allows for unconscious material, feelings, and patterns to surface. If you have a willingness to work this way, though it's not the one and only way I work, count me in!
I consider whatever enters the therapy room to be a gift. I feel honored to be (confidentially) present for what comes up for you. Part of my draw to this work is to be able to have the kinds of conversations that are seldom had in a coffee shop, so to speak. I am open to the deep and complex realities of our lives.
