My Approach to Helping
At one time or another, we all have thoughts and behaviors that leave us frustrated, alone and confused and this can impede our success. One of the biggest challenges can be finding someone you can confide in, feel supported by and be comfortable with. I believe in helping you focus on your strengths and utilizing those strengths to overcome any issues that may be holding you back from reaching your highest potential. We can work together using Client-Centered Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I can offer you a safe environment, an empathetic ear and vast array of experience to help you face your challenges and difficulties.
I believe in being present with my clients, that means I will follow your lead and address only what is significant in your situation. Helping and guiding you in making positive choices is what we can do together. We will work towards resolving the pain or stress that you are experiencing and improve your understanding of your situation or relationship. You can be educated on how to implement positive healthy coping skills by utilizing my experience as a therapist in addressing your concerns.
We can work together to relieve your symptoms of anxiety and depression as you gain a better understanding of yourself and develop the skills needed to find practical solutions to current problems.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed
Many people struggle in thinking that "If I go to therapy, then I will be seen as weak or flawed". This is so untrue and mostly because at some time in everyone's life, we all need help. Asking for help is so hard at times, and it is at these difficult times that we seek out a friend or family member, someone to talk to, to listen, to give guidance, however comforting they may be at your difficult time, they are not professionally trained to assist and guide you into the journey you may need to travel. I am not saying your family and friends are not good to go to for comfort, but can they really guide you in the right direction? They may be biased because they are very emotionally close to you, therefore they may give you advice based on this bias, and sometimes this can be negative advice, advice that may compound your situation even more. Professional therapists are trained to be unbiased and non-judgmental.
