My Approach to Helping
Helping others heal, grow, and thrive every day brings great meaning to my life. I know from personal experience how life can sometimes feel unbearable. I also know from personal experience what it is like to work closely with a gifted psychologist to create a new perspective and a new life that are even better before. I am passionate about providing the highest-quality mental health services to each of my clients and would love the opportunity to team up with you to help through this tough time.
Please feel free to reach out—whether you want to schedule a free consultation, need some handouts and resources, or just have some questions—and allow me the honor of serving you as a local resource. I am happy to listen to your needs, discuss your options, and then point you in the right direction to help you find the care you are looking for, whether it is with me or another provider.
I am the founder of Insight Psychology Center, Inc. and the 2020 President of the Orange County Psychological Association. I specialize in providing compassionate and scientifically supported individual and group psychotherapy, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and personal growth and skills groups. It would be a real pleasure to work with you!

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?
Why not try a Group?
It has been well-established that group therapy is an effective method for targeting the relational aspects of symptoms, behaviors, thoughts, and emotions. In a group, the relationships between members, as well as with the group leader, begin to form and each member's longstanding social patterns emerge.
Hope builds as a members witnesses others in similar situations heal and grow. The sense of isolation and being secretly "defective" dissolve as it is discovered that other people have been through the same awful experiences. Finding out that you are not alone can provide a huge sense of relief and even help the healing process. Clients who enter feeling a deep sense of having nothing to offer anyone else find they can be of importance to others. This can boost self-esteem and begin the process of thinking in a new way. With the help of a highly skilled group therapist, clients can work within the group to learn to attune to their interactional style, improve the way they respond to others, be less judgmental, and even have more empathy.
It is worth noting that many clients think joining a group of strangers seems intimidating, but (again, with a very skilled group therapist leading the way), these strangers can become a new support network, a sounding board for all sorts of issues and ideas, a source of specific ideas for improving a difficult or challenging situation. Listening to the problems of others can help you put your problems into perspective and also help you learn how different people with different personalities and backgrounds look at situations in different ways.
The bottom line here, is that group therapy is a great modality all by itself, and it is often just what is needed to round out individual treatment.
