My Approach to Helping

Ms. Helsel believes the connection between the client and therapist is the most important aspect of the clinical relationship. Thus, she utilizes components of Person Centered Therapy, to develop a personal connection where compatibility, unconditional positive regard, and empathy are valued. It is of upmost importance that the client feel nurtured, respected, and relaxed to disclose their narrative life story throughout the therapy process. Ms. Helsel also uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Systems, and Solution Focused Therapy to tailor her treatment. She values the special bond she forms with clients of all backgrounds.
