My Approach to Helping
I understand it can be difficult to reach out for help when individuals are feeling overwhelmed, confused and scared. I appreciate and affirm the courage it takes to enter a therapeutic setting and into a therapeutic relationship. It is important to honor each client's individual journey towards happiness, wholeness, and health. I strive to provide a safe, supportive and non-judgmental space for all individuals and topics. I believe that providing a safe, judgment-free environment is essential to address sensitive and personal issues. Creating a dynamic in which we collaborate together to establish goals for individuals is valuable. I believe that together we can discover effective possibilities that can provide insight towards resolutions.
I am passionate about supporting individuals, children, families, and couples throughout their journeys in counseling. I am here to help you identify and utilize your strengths, as well as develop new ones, to achieve your goals to reconnect with the joys of life.
In addition to working with adults and couples, I also enjoy and have experience working with children and adolescents. I aim to develop a strong therapeutic relationship with my child and adolescent clients in order to provide a safe outlet for emotional expression, develop coping skills, improve mood, and strengthen self-esteem.
I also enjoy and am trained in working with individuals and couples who are experiencing sexual concerns. I am a Certified Sex Therapist-Candidate through the Texas Sex Therapy Institute. Many people have trouble discussing sexual problems, sex therapy is designed to help you explore those sensitive issues and solutions can be created through the therapeutic process. My areas of interest, training, and experience include infidelity, low sexual libido, vaginismus, erectile dysfunction, performance anxiety, addiction, out of control sexual behaviors, couple martial conflicts, identity issues, kink, communication difficulties, grief, trauma, depression, anxiety.
I enjoy working with everyone: monogamous, polyamorous, kink-identified and LGBTQIA+. If you find that you are struggling with asking for what you want and need in life, in your relationships and within yourself, the work we can do can help you grow and achieve your next level of happiness.
