Houston Mental Health Statistics

According to the Houston State of Health, 12.4% of Houston adults reported experiencing 14 or more days of poor mental health in the most recent month and 11.2% of adults in Houston experienced frequent mental distress. A report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that on average, 36.5% of Houston adults got less than 7 hours of sleep per night, which can significantly impact mental health.

Nearly 5% of Harris county residents experience major depression, and from 2012 to 2014, 10.8% of youth had a major depressive episode.
