My Approach to Helping
Our experience as human beings is complex and even traumatizing at times. It has the power to leave some feeling disempowered and desperate to establish a new relationship with their internal world that grants them freedom from distress. As a dedicated therapist, I am passionate about helping my clients navigate the intricacies of ailments such as anxiety, low self esteem, OCD, identity concerns, and trauma. My work is grounded in evidence-based techniques that are tailored to meet each client's unique needs. I believe that when clients have a growth mindset and are willing to connect with themselves in new ways, magic can happen!
I don't just want to help my clients gain coping skills but to also develop a transformed way of connecting with themselves. I strive to help them to live a life in line with their values where they have learned how to navigate ups and downs, have a true POWER over their internal world, and can love themselves through each part of their healing journey.
My goal in working with anyone is to have them end therapy feeling seen, more empowered, better functioning, and overall happier. Being able to facilitate the therapeutic process in which changed my life, is one of the greatest joys, passions, and purpose of my life. I have worked in all levels of care in the mental health field, which included intensive mental health treatment for teens and adults related to OCD, anxiety, trauma, abuse, and eating disorders.
I utilize therapeutic practices that best fit the client I am working with. It is not a one-sized fits all! I work together WITH my clients to assess what approach best works with their given set of circumstances. I love utilizing EMDR to reprocess triggers and trauma, play therapy when working with children, DBT to learn tangible skills, and CBT and narrative therapy to gain control over thoughts and behaviors.
I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy, an evidence based therapy modality that is highly effective in not only trauma treatment but anxiety and otherwise. I am also a Lens Neurofeedback provider. The LENS or Low Energy Neurofeedback System, is a unique and effective form of neurotechnology that targets the central nervous system to help it reorganize itself. I offer therapy in person or online depending on the client's preference, M-TH 9am-7pm. I try my best to work with my client's schedules.
