My Approach to Helping
I am Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas with 3 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with autism spectrum disorder, depression, blindness and visual impairment, youth and adolescents with anger issues, stress and anxiety, coping with addictions, relationship issues, & family conflicts. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from North Carolina State University, a Master's degree in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from UNC-Chapel Hill, and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Ohio University. The counseling modalities I most often utilize include Person Centered Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Theory, Gestalt Therapy, Narrative Therapy, as well as Solution Focused Theory, although I adjust my theory and counseling approach to best match your individual needs. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. All sessions are allotted to 45 minutes however if you feel you are done working through presenting issues before the 45 minutes the session will end earlier. I am off Sundays and Tuesdays however work a full schedule on 5 days per week. If you request a specific time allocation please reserve for the following week. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started!
