My Approach to Helping
If your child is struggling with worry, sadness, or loneliness at home, at school, or with their peers, THERAPY may be very helpful. If you are experiencing these problems with your child such as frequent arguments or conflict in the family, acting out or non-compliance (rule-breaking), sadness or loss, agitation and irritability, poor academic performance, difficulty making friends, inattention and not getting work done, excessive use of electronics, and skipping school, do not wait. Without proper diagnosis and treatment, childhood mental health problems lead to increased risk of problems in adulthood.
I’m an associate marriage and family therapist and associate professional clinical counselor. I’ve been helping children, adolescents, young adults and their families to find healthy perceptions of themselves and strengthen their relationships so they can know themselves as peaceful, complete, whole and safe. It is my job to create a safe place and help children and families find answers, overcome hardship, and move towards a brighter future.
I am oriented toward a Client-Centered approach to therapy, but depending on your specific needs and goals, I will adapt interventions using Acceptance Commitment Therapy and EFT among others. In addition to treating relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety and grief, I am trained in EMDR Therapy for trauma, substance abuse, and anger management.
