My Approach to Helping
I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of treatment success. I provide a non-judgmental and open environment conducive to sharing and change, and work collaboratively with the client to meet hisher needs. I understand that embracing the therapy process and implementing change can be difficult and am dedicated to providing support and encouragement to my clients every step of the way.
More Info About My Practice
I completed a master’s degree in psychology through Walden University, followed by a certificate in rehabilitation counseling through the University of North Texas. Additionally, I completed graduate training in applied behavior analysis through the University of Colorado Denver. I am both a nationally Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Illinois.
I have experience dealing with many different backgrounds and cultures, having worked in rehabilitation, and at various facilities such as developmental centers and correctional institutions. I’ve worked with children providing behavioral therapy in the home, and through other capacities providing family support. I have experience working in collaboration with psychiatric services making diagnostic recommendations and monitoring for treatment efficacy, as well. Given the large range of diagnoses I’ve worked with, I am knowledgeable regarding a number of issues both mild and severe. I look forward to working with you no matter your background or age.
Outside of work I enjoy listening to music, reading, taking walks, and spending time with my family. I also love to travel when I have the time!
