My Approach to Helping
I enjoy working with individuals, couples and families of all ages. I have been working with families for the over 2 years doing in-home therapy for a diverse population of clients. I have enjoyed the challenges and successes of working with my clients and have found that this experience has enriched my abilities. In my work I have had the opportunity to branch out into other populations such as working with Relatives As Parents, their families, and school groups as well as pursuing my passion in working with the LGBTTTIQQA population.
Despite the varied symptoms specific to LGBTTTIQQA's, the cause is most often conflict between ourselves and the dominate cultural norms. Negative messages we hear through media and interactions with others on a daily basis are internalized. I help LGBTTTIQQA's identify internalized homo-negativity and help them externalize those messages.
