Living in an urban environment puts us at greater risk for challenges with stress, confidence, depression and anxiety. Nature plays an important role in your ability to heal and grow. This truth is increasingly supported by scientific research, which has already demonstrated that therapeutic engagement in nature decreases stress hormones and improves mood. My practice is nature immersion counseling, and my aim is helping you rediscover your vitality and purpose within a nature retreat setting in Portland's NW Hills (20 minutes from downtown Portland and Hillsboro). If you do not have access to a vehicle or lack desire to drive, I can also see you at an office in NW Portland's Alphabet District.

If you are emotionally drained, grieving, lacking confidence, or are struggling with a general malaise, I will help you connect with strength and empowerment. If you are anxious, stressed or overwhelmed, I will help you cultivate a deep sense of peace and grounding. My therapeutic approach is experiential, insight-oriented, instructive and gentle.

You deserve to feel better. I want to help you get there.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

A common misconception is that people who see therapists have "something wrong" with them. On the contrary, people who reach out for support are seeking a deeper level of connection and satisfaction in their lives. Your emotional or physical discomfort can serve to initiate profound healing and growth. A good counselor offers objective guidance and compassionate support to help you understand and heal from your discomfort, and discover a deeply fulfilling life.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

Though we are all wounded in some way by the events and circumstances of life, many of us choose to find meaning and relevance through our wounding. This has been my path. As a young adult, I faced some significant health challenges. While I was tempted by despair, I was also fortunate to receive compassionate support and encouragement to search for a deeper truth being expressed through my symptoms. As I have devoted time and patience to listen to my symptoms, I have discovered healing in ways I could have never imagined. My path has revealed the healing power of intimate self-discovery, and I am passionate about helping others with this journey.
